Suma has won six awards in recognition of its vegetarian offering.
The co-operative scooped the awards for five of its products at the Veggie Awards 2023. Now in their 13th year, the Veggie Awards celebrate vegan and vegetarian pantry staples, cruelty-free skincare and plastic-free products from brands that are going above and beyond in their commitment to the planet and its people.
Suma won Gold in the Best Drink category for its Organic Peach & Turmeric Kombucha, Vegetarian Cupboard for Organic Italian Penne Pasta, along with the Everyday Essentials accolade for its ALTER/NATIVE by Suma All-in-One Earthbound Bar, which, judges said, “is a game-changer! Its invigorating blend of tea tree, lime, and lemongrass gives a refreshing shower experience. Versatile enough for hair, body, and laundry, it’s the ultimate travel companion. Its cruelty-free, vegan formulation aligns with eco-friendly values, and the fact that it’s made in the UK showcases a commitment to local and sustainable production”.
In addition, Silver awards were given in the Plastic-Free Innovation category for Organic Italian Penne Pasta, Vegan Cupboard for Edamame Hummus and ALTER/NATIVE by Suma Rose & Geranium Moisturising Balm in the Everyday Essentials category.
