Pravera strengthens team with new appointment

Jo Matyear has joined Pravera as the business strengthens its team ahead of its 2024 plans.

The company, which distributes brands including Lavera, Benecos and more recently, Qi Teas, says it has been reviewing its offering in 2023 due to the general flatlining in sales of niche organic, natural and vegan skincare products. Having already taken on and listing Raw Sport premium vegan protein powders in conjunction with Wholefoods Market, the diversification into ‘foods’ brings owner and Managing Director, Graeme Hume, back to his roots.

To help with this development, Jo Matyear joins in the new position of Key Account Manager.

Graeme commented: “The success of Raw Sport sales took me by surprise and encouraged me to relook at ‘foods’. The time has come to seek expansion and embrace the changing marketplace with new ‘food’ brands arriving imminently. We see these as not only opening doors but also improving the offering portfolio for our current customer base. On that point, we welcome approaches from niche organic brands seeking distribution to the independents.

Jo added: “It’s really wonderful to be invited back to where my natural products journey started. It feels like I’m completing the circle. I learnt so much from Graeme in those early days and have developed a wealth of experience building brands ever since. There’s some exciting things coming to Pravera in 2024 and I’m looking forward to being an integral part of the team.”
